To eat or not to eat, what is the Scriptural standard?

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Biblical Diet

What is the scriptural standard with regards to eating? How are we to understand these instructions and what is the physical and spiritual significance when we obey? Keeping these dietary instructions is commonly referred to as keeping kosher. The word “kosher” or “kasher” means proper, pure or acceptable. If we say we eat “kosher” we eat what is permissible in accordance with dietary instructions in Scripture.

Breaking the Covenant – Covenants Part 2

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Covenant

In the first post in the series we discussed the concepts of a covenant and looked at some different types and forms of the covenants. In this post we will be looking at the concept of breaking a covenant and how that is different from annulling or voiding an agreement or contract. Very often we hear the theory that the original Sinaic covenant has been terminated because of the incident of the golden calf and therefor YHVH had to make another covenant with His people. Even if we make this mistake of treating YHVH’s covenant as a contract, this is not true.

There are many natural disasters occurring in our day; earthquakes, tornados, hail the size of tennis balls and there are even volcanoes on the verge of erupting. What is going on? Who do we ascribe this to? Some are ascribing all these or most of these occurrences to H.A.A.R.P. H.A.A.R.P is the abbreviation for High Frequency Active Auroral Research program, an investigation project to understand, simulate and control ionospheric processes. Is the human race capable of creating some or even all of these disasters?

Trip Report – Shavuot – Our proclamation

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Shavuot

The previous two articles we published regarding the feast of Shavuot emphasized the proclamation that had to be made as part of our Shavuot celebrations. We felt that this proclamation needed to be a repentance of sin. This repentance should not only be for our own sins, but also for the sins of our fathers. We set out on our trip to Jerusalem with the idea that we as a family needed to make a proclamation. However, we did feel that YHVH may have a bigger plan in mind. Little did we really know what an awesome experience awaited us!
