Fasting on Yom Kippurim

Should we be humbling our souls by fasting on Yom Kippurim

I have seen so many articles about Yom Kippurim this past week that my head is spinning! I love these feast times, so much to learn so little time. It sometimes feels like drinking from a fire hose! To get back to the articles; many people seem to be of the opinion that it is not necessary to fast on Yom Kippurim. We understand this differently, WE ARE TO FAST ON YOM KIPPURIM! Don’t just dismiss this article if you are not in agreement, bear with us as we show you YHVH’s truth from His Word, then go forth and share this so that others can learn and apply YHVH’s truth!

Sukkot – the Festival of Joy!

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Sukkot

It is almost time for Sukkot, the Festival of joy! Going to Israel for Sukkot is an unforgettable experience! All around you see Sukkah’s; the streets are filled with people, and you hear cheerful celebration deep into the night (not always so great, if you want to sleep). There is an atmosphere of jubilation all over. The shelves of the vegetable and fruit vendors at the markets are filled with fresh fruit: pomegranates, figs, grapes, olives and watermelons. What a feast of color and sweetness! What makes it so extraordinary in Israel, is that the feast is celebrated by the nation. Almost everybody participates. It gives you a little taste of what it will be like after Y’shua’s return, when all the nations go up to Jerusalem to celebrate this appointed time with YHVH. Yes, that is what it is, a special appointment with YHVH.

The New High Priest on Yom Kippurim

High Priest of Israel on the Day of Atonement - Yom Kippur

During the annual mo’ed of Yom Kippurim (Day of Atonements), the high priest of Israel had a very special role to play. He had to take the blood of the sin offerings before YHVH to atone for his sin, his family’s sin and the sin of the nation. When Y’shua died and was resurrected, His blood became the atonement for all our sin. So how then is the feast of Atonement/ Coverings changed now that Y’Shua sits on the right hand of YHVH and provides a covering for his bride? We have the book of Hebrews to explain this to us, provided that we have a clear understanding of what the author of Hebrews is trying to tell us. To many of us still have a replacement theology view embedded in our minds when we think about the book of Hebrews. Let us take another look at how all of this comes together and what Ezekiel’s temple vision tells us about this.

The Book of Life, how to be in it…

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Yom Kippur

Yom Kippurim is the second of the fall feasts and is also known as the Day of Atonements or the Day of Coverings. It is often said that your fate for the next year is determined and inscribed in the Book of Life on Yom T’ruah and sealed on Yom Kippurim. This is a Babylonian tradition, which has its roots in idolatry. This said, it does make you wonder what this Book of Life, mentioned in Scripture, is all about. What are the implications if your name is, or is not, in it? We shall show you how being inscribed in the Book of Life, will ensure that you are not only part of the remnant at the end of the tribulation, but also how you will not be counted with those who will experience the second death. Please continue reading….you will be glad you did!
