Being different

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Deception

Mediocracy has become the social norm; it has become the way modern society functions. It is called normal or balanced. As long as people live according the approved social standard, they are accepted. This approved social standard does not like or accept people who are different. They say they do embrace diversity, but they don’t. There are of course exceptions.

Many people when they hear of our faith and how we live it, comment about how interesting they find it and how much they respect us for living the way we do. However, many others view us as fanatics.

Shavuot, consider this

Two years ago we started celebrating Shavuot differently. This day, to us, is a day on which we renew our commitment to YHVH. Much like married couples do when they renew their wedding vows. We do this in the form of a proclamation, because we are commanded to make a procalmation on this day. This short article is to explain the motivation behind this and how we do it.

Growing a vegetable garden in the Sabbatical year?

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Sabbatical Year

We are in the process of preparing for the Sabbatical year which will start in the spring (Aviv) of 2016. As we get closer to the time, we get questions and comments from others who plan to keep, or oppose the keeping of the Sabbatical year. One comment we received was that a family sized vegetable garden would be exempt from the Sabbatical year commandments due to the following reasons. Vegetables tend not to self seed, have a broad growing season and are not harvested in a bulk way.

I value these comments even if they oppose our understanding, because it gives us an opportunity to dig deeper and learn more. In this case I actually want them to be correct seeing that vegetables are more difficult to store and we use so much of it. However, I will remain objective and I believe YHVH will help us find the truth.

So, is our own family-sized vegetable garden exempt from the requirements of the Sabbatical year or are we required to keep these instructions?

His perfect will is not to heal you

What is YHVH’s plan with our health? Disease is a curse that comes upon us due to sin. It appears that the medical establishment is out of depth for some of these incurable diseases. Maybe it is simply that doctors are not trained to deal with the source of these diseases. We need to address these diseases at a spiritual level if we want to see them cured. So what is the deal here? How do we get to the cure?
