A lady that deserves some of your tithe
We had the priviledge to meet a wonderful lady and her daughter during our recent trip to Jerusalem. Here is a widow that is focusing her live on helping others. Without any need to build a large organization, she uses whatever she can get to help those in need. Behind this is a wonderful story of a man that learned the importance of helping others the hard way. Meet this wonderful family and see why we believe that they need all the support they can get from us.

Building altars
We have recently published two articles: Dispelling spiritual darkness, which is about prayer altars and A spiritual priesthood about how wrong it is when we, as believers, call ourselves priests. These studies prompted a few the questions: how do we reconcile the building of altars and sacrificing by people who are not of the Levitical line? We may need to challenge our understanding about altars and the premise that only priests were allowed to offer sacrifices. In this study, we will do that. We will first define what the word altar means in the context of scripture. We will also search out the instructions regarding the building of an altar and investigate who built altars and why.

How celebrating Sukkot shapes us
At first, some of YHVH’s instructions appear strange to us. We do not see the sense in keeping them. Yet, if we are obedient and keep the commandment, we soon see the benefits. Sometimes you see the benefits after making the commandment a habit. The feast of Sukkot is one of these commandments. By keeping the feast a couple of times, you start to see how this positively shapes your life.

Shavuot 2015 – An appointed time of great significance
Shavuot, the feast of oaths, an appointed time with our Heavenly Father. On this day we seven ourselves, we re-dedicate ourselves to YHVH. We have come to experience Shavuot as focusing on our relationship with YHVH, both individually and nationally. It does make sense because on this day the Torah was given and later the Holy Spirit. Both the Torah and the Holy Spirit enables us to have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. The Torah teaches how to be set apart and the Holy Spirit enables us to be obedient to these instructions. Read here about our experience of this day.

The sixth year, a year of preparation
This sixth year of the Sabbatical cycle is a year of preparation. Just like we have the weekly Sabbath with the sixth day as the preparation day, we have the Sabbatical year, the seventh year, with the sixth year as a year of preparation. So this year when the barley is found aviv and the new moon has been sighted, we will start to prepare for the Sabbatical year which starts 1 Aviv 2016. The purpose of this article is to be a practical guide as to what we are to have in place before the beginning of the next Sabbatical year.
