Are you entangled by unrighteous ties? Are you being held back by invisible cords? It is possible that we are kept from fulfilling our purpose due to ties that hold us back. In our previos article we looked at marriage and our relationship with YHVH. In this article, we will learn about other relationships and its impact on us. We will be looking at both the positive and negative impact of relationships, but also at how relationships are part of YHVH’s design for us. A relationship can be a blessing or a snare and we are to be responsible in our dealings with people, both physical and spiritual.
Every person on earth is affected by relationships. We have old friends, good friends estranged friends and some enemies too. Some of us are married and have children. We all have or had parents. We meet people, share a few words and move on, sometimes these few words lead to a meaningful relationship. Our lives are shaped and made full by relationships and most of the hurt we will ever experience will also be due to relationships. Our most meaningful relationship is or should be with our Maker, but often it is not so. The purpose of this study is to look at what we can learn from scripture about relationships.
We will break it down in two articles, this article is about our relationship with YHVH and between a man and woman.
When we study Bible prophecy, we find many references to a remnant. We often read about YHVH’s judgement and how a remnant remains. It is prophesied that there will be a future judgment and that a remant will remain. Everybody wants to be part of that remnant. We want to be part of the group that survive YHVH’s judgment. The question is who is this remnant and what does it entail to be part of the remant? Is it something we would want to be part of and if yes, how?
Each of us has a purpose and a role to play in YHVH’s plan. I saw a short video last week of dominoes, gradually increasing in size, that illustrated this beautifully. You may have seen it too. The biggest domino was standing almost half a meter tall and the smallest was so small it had to be put in place with a tweezer. That smallest domino was set in motion with the slightest movement of the tweezer, though it started the action of throwing over all the dominoes, even the greatest one. Even the slightest action has an effect of great significance.
I want to encourage you with this. Each of us, no matter how insignificant we are in our own eyes or the eyes of others, has an important role to play in YHVH’s plan. We may not even know what impact we make, but we do.
