The topic of tithing and giving has been much debated and there are many different interpretations of the Scripture regarding this topic. Both individuals and organizations have twisted the scriptures regarding tithing for their own benefit. The purpose of this study is to see what the Scripture teaches about tithing and how we should apply it in our lives. We are going to look into pre-mosaic tithing, mosaic tithing and what we can learn from Y’shua and history. What does Abba Yahovah require from us with regards to tithing and giving? The Sabbatical year is a picture of provision. All the instructions regarding this commandment points to provision. The releasing of debt and slaves. The cessation of all field labour for a year. These are very challenging instructions. To keep the Sabbatical year requires absolute dedication. Dedication in our obedience towards our Elohim.
I recently received an article via e-mail. The message is about a very popular topic “Can the law save?” This article is a prime example of the deception of our day and age. Deception comes very easily when you quote scripture out of context, when you only spend a few minutes studying your Bible and rely on people for your instruction without verifying what they teach. Can you spot these deceptions or are they too well hidden in the half truths? In this article I will explain some of these tricks that are used to deceive people into believing false doctrines. I will show what you can do to better protect yourself from these misleading articles.
I have often heard the phrase “When you enter the land” mentioned in discussion on the applicability to a specific commandment. I have previously spoken about our logic getting in the way of our obedience. Could the use of this condition be another example of us trying to reason which of the instructions of YHVH to obey? A good example of this is the sabbatical year. Should we or shouldn’t we keep the instructions regarding the sabbatical year? Is it only applicable to people living in Israel or is it applicable to all? What about the pilgrimage feasts? Should we go to Israel three times a year or not?
