“You shall have a holy convocation”
This may seem like a strange title for an article, but it is not so strange after all. Do you know what it means to have a holy convocation? I thought I did, until I did this study. This study was prompted by a dear friend who asked the question: are we commanded to assemble on the Sabbath? This is a good question, with a unexpected answer. Assembling on the Sabbath and Feast days with like minded believers is a huge blessing, but is this what is commanded with the words “you shall have a holy convocation?”

The New High Priest on Yom Kippurim
During the annual mo’ed of Yom Kippurim (Day of Atonements), the high priest of Israel had a very special role to play. He had to take the blood of the sin offerings before YHVH to atone for his sin, his family’s sin and the sin of the nation. When Y’shua died and was resurrected, His blood became the atonement for all our sin. So how then is the feast of Atonement/ Coverings changed now that Y’Shua sits on the right hand of YHVH and provides a covering for his bride? We have the book of Hebrews to explain this to us, provided that we have a clear understanding of what the author of Hebrews is trying to tell us. To many of us still have a replacement theology view embedded in our minds when we think about the book of Hebrews. Let us take another look at how all of this comes together and what Ezekiel’s temple vision tells us about this.

The Book of Life, how to be in it…
Yom Kippurim is the second of the fall feasts and is also known as the Day of Atonements or the Day of Coverings. It is often said that your fate for the next year is determined and inscribed in the Book of Life on Yom T’ruah and sealed on Yom Kippurim. This is a Babylonian tradition, which has its roots in idolatry. This said, it does make you wonder what this Book of Life, mentioned in Scripture, is all about. What are the implications if your name is, or is not, in it? We shall show you how being inscribed in the Book of Life, will ensure that you are not only part of the remnant at the end of the tribulation, but also how you will not be counted with those who will experience the second death. The Prophetic significance of Yom T’Ruah
In the article that we published last year, we covered the all the basic aspects of the appointed time of Yom T’Ruah. We looked at the instructions we received for keeping this appointed time and also touched on some of the bad and good traditions of this feast. In this article we will do a study on the prophetic significance of this day for us as believers in Y’Shua the Messiah. We know that all feasts are a picture of things to come and that the first grouping of feasts (spring feasts) were fulfilled at the first coming of the Messiah. The second grouping of feasts (fall feasts) should therefore give us the picture of Y’Shua’s second coming. As the first feast in this group, Yom T’Ruah should give us some clues as to what will happen during this second coming.

Trip Report – Shavuot – Our proclamation
The previous two articles we published regarding the feast of Shavuot emphasized the proclamation that had to be made as part of our Shavuot celebrations. We felt that this proclamation needed to be a repentance of sin. This repentance should not only be for our own sins, but also for the sins of our fathers. We set out on our trip to Jerusalem with the idea that we as a family needed to make a proclamation. However, we did feel that YHVH may have a bigger plan in mind. Little did we really know what an awesome experience awaited us!

The significance of understanding First Fruits
We have now entered the season of the spring festivals as described in Leviticus 23. In our previous post we highlighted some of the facts regarding the first two feasts of the year, namely Pesach and the feast of Unleavened bread. In this article we will be discussing about the next appointed time that is most likely also the most overlooked of all. I am referring to the First Fruits offering. Do you really understand why this is in my opinion the most important moedim for us as followers of Y’Shua our Messiah?
