Cleaning out the leaven…being prepared

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Pesach, Unleavened Bread

In a few weeks time we will be celebrating the Passover , the feast of First Fruit and the Feast of Unleavened bread. It is time to start preparing our homes and our hearts for this time. We prepare by removing leaven from our homes, both physical and spiritual. You may think that we still have plenty of time to do this, but you also know how time flies and how busy we all are.

We always think there is plenty of time left, spiritually as well, but is this true? Our lives are not our own, and can be cut short at any time. Will you be ready when that happens, will I? Have you considered this, or do you move these kind of thoughts quickly to the back of your mind, not wanting to think about it? We should not do this, but instead ponder this and make sure we are adequately prepared. Leaven can’t remove itself and just as we prepare for this feast, by removing all leaven from our homes, we are to make sure we are spiritually prepared too.

Counting the Omer and having a pure heart

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Shavuot

We have just celebrated the Feasts of Passover, First Fruits and Unleavened bread. It has been a delightful time, a time of celebration with dear friends and family. We commemorated both our physical redemption from Egypt as well as our spiritual redemption from our spiritual Egypt, which is our sinful state. Y’shua our Messiah took our punishment on Himself and redeemed us. We are free in Him.

We arenow counting the omer to the next appointed time, Shavuot. You may wonder what this has to do with having a pure heart…

It is time for us to get out of slavery and return to YHVH!

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Appointed times, Pesach

It is almost time to celebrate the Passover. The Passover commemorates YHVH’s redemption of His people from slavery in Egypt. Every year when we tell the story of the Exodus, we tell our own story as well; a story of redemption from sin, through the blood of our Passover, Y’shua our Messiah. Do you have such a redemption story to tell? If not, read on and we will show you that you too can choose freedom and life. You also can become free from the burden of sin and experience your own personal exodus. You too can break the curses…

The Last Supper was not a Passover seder

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Appointed times, Pesach

Every year before and during Passover, we are confronted with the same questions. One of these questions is: was the last meal Y’shua had with His disciples a Pesach seder?

There are many passages in Scripture that seem contradictory, especially on this topic, but we believe that these seeming contradictions are because of our lack of understanding. We believe that all Scripture is inspired by YHVH’s Ruach (Spirit). There are minor scribal and translation errors in Scripture, but apart from these, the message remains the same.

We will show you evidence from the Scripture, regarding the last meal Y’shua had with His disciples. We will also look at the instructions regarding these days and how Y’shua fulfilled the feast of Passover. All this is important in order for us to understand why His last meal could not have been a Passover seder.
