We have just celebrated the Feasts of Passover, First Fruits and Unleavened bread. It has been a delightful time, a time of celebration with dear friends and family. We commemorated both our physical redemption from Egypt as well as our spiritual redemption from our spiritual Egypt, which is our sinful state. Y’shua our Messiah took our punishment on Himself and redeemed us. We are free in Him.

We arenow counting the omer to the next appointed time, Shavuot. You may wonder what this has to do with having a pure heart…

Shavuot in Jerusalem 2013…I will be your Elohim and you shall be My people

Shavuot in Jerusalem…Thinking of this time brings back fond memories, memories of friendship, fellowship but more importantly a reminder of our commitment to YHVH. On this day, we went up to Jerusalem, to the city of David, with friends from many different countries and renewed our commitment to be obedient to our Heavenly Father. We proclaimed, “All that YHVH has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.”

It is almost Shavuot again, the feast of proclamation. How blessed are we to be able to celebrate YHVHs appointed times? YHVH has a purpose with these days, a very special purpose. These appointed times are prophetic and this one, Shavuot, has been fulfilled twice. We have learned, with the previous cycle, that this day is also called the day of proclamation. So what are we proclaiming this year? We believe that we need to continue in repentance as our ways are not perfect before Him. However, we also need to re-commit ourselves to serve YHVH, without compromise. Allow us to explain…

How to count the Omer and celebrate Shavuot

Shavuot

Shavuot is the forth feast of seven in YHVH’s annual cycle. We have not been given a date for this feast but are commanded to count towards this special day. The purpose of this article is to attain an understanding as to what Abba YHVH expects of us in the observance of this feast, but also to search out some of the wonderful lessons we learn through the counting towards this feast and the observance of it.
