We have written a few articles about the Sabbath before, however, circumstances have prompted me to write this to you. Circumstances that were caused by my poor planning and wrong choices. We have recently written two articles about the topic of assembling together. The tabernacle and Temple were central in both these studies. This time we are going to look at the Temple from a different, more spiritual, point of view. We have been taught that we are living temples of the Holy Spirit, but are we really? Does His Set apart Spirit dwell in us?
In this study, we will investigate what we know, in our time, as an assembly and how this compares with what was done in Biblical times. We shall also study how and when this originated. We shall look at the purpose of the tabernacle and the Temple and if this was indeed the forerunners of what we know today as church or synagogue. We shall also investigate how the words “ekklesia” and “synagogue” were translated and why. Prepare to be challenged…
We have recently proclaimed: “All that YHVH has spoken; we will do, and we will be obedient.” This urges us to investigation of our lives. Are we doing all that YHVH has spoken and are we obedient? One issue, of many, YHVH led me to look into, is mixing. The prohibition to mix certain things is something that is often overlooked and seems quite unimportant. So why would we want to spend any time investigating this? How are we to understand these commandments?
