Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Training in righteousness

Many people don’t realize that we are given detailed instructions in the Scriptures on how to deal with suffering. I have come to realize this, when I read through the book of 1 Peter. His advice is so practical; we can all benefit from it. Suffering in any form, even in the form of being slandered by others, is something that invariably happens to all of us. It is part of life and part of our training in righteousness.

Trials come upon us to test us and to strengthen our faith, therefor we are to rejoice in these difficult times. It sounds easier than it is…

Haggai says you need to do more

We all believe that we should live a righteous life and keep the commandments that YHVH provided for us in His Torah. We also believe that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. If we study the scriptures a bit more we see that this may not be enough. We should learn from Haggai that we need to do more than follow the law. The message that Haggai had to take to the remnant clearly shows that we need to ensure that we are obedient to YHVH and that His will is always our number one priority. Haggai also explains to the people that our responsibility does not stop with our own righteousness. We need to go even further that that.

The Sabbatical year is a picture of provision. All the instructions regarding this commandment points to provision. The releasing of debt and slaves. The cessation of all field labour for a year. These are very challenging instructions. To keep the Sabbatical year requires absolute dedication. Dedication in our obedience towards our Elohim.

Just take a look around you! There is widespread famine, tropical storms, earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars, financial hardship, moral decay and infertility. The whole earth seems to be in turmoil. Is this the beginning of the end times? Are we experiencing what Y’shua described to His disciples in Matthew 24? Are these purely natural events or are these calls from Yahovah? Do you know the cyclical pattern of punishment described in Scripture and the sequence in which these punishements occur? What will happen next and what are we to do?
