Choose life!

Do you have any control over your destiny, any choice in how your life turns out, or is it all pre-ordained? Choose lifeCan our choices really affect a change in the outcome of our lives?

We are told in YHVH’s Word to choose between life and prosperity or death and adversity.  How do we choose life and prosperity? Is it some secret revelation for only some people to understand? I believe it is revealed to every person on this earth and the choice is ours. Each of us can choose to be set apart people unto YHVH.

Deuteronomy 29:29 (NASB95)
29 “The secret things belong to YHVH our Elohim, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.

Deuteronomy 30:15–16 (NASB95)
15 “See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, and death and adversity;
16 in that I command you today to love YHVH your Elohim, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, that you may live and multiply, and that Yahovah your Elohim may bless you in the land where you are entering to possess it.

YHVH tells us exactly what we need to do and He repeats it often. Go and search in the Scripture and see how many times we are told to keep the commandments of YHVH. He also tells us that it is possible to do and not difficult.

Deuteronomy 30:11–14 (NASB95)
11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach.
12 “It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’
13 “Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’
14 “But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.

1 John 5:3 (NASB95)
3 For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

YHVH again repeats it in Deuteronomy 30:20 and here again tells us exactly what He expects of us.

Deuteronomy 30:20 (NASB95)
20 by loving YHVH your Elohim, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which YHVH swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”

In the end there are but two important things: Fear YHVH and keep His commandments!

Ecclesiastes 12:13 (NASB95)
13 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear YHVH and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.

Luke 18:18–22 (NASB95)
18 A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
19 And Y’shua said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except YHVH alone.
20 “You know the commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.’ ”
21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.”
22 When Y’shua heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

John 15:9–11 (NASB95)
9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.
10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Revelation 14:12 (NASB95)
12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of YHVH and their faith in Y’shua.

The remnant? How does this apply to the remnant at the end? YHVH has always preserved a living remnant and promised to do so always.

Isaiah 10:20–22 (NASB95)
20 Now in that day the remnant of Israel, and those of the house of Jacob who have escaped, will never again rely on the one who struck them, but will truly rely on YHVH the Holy One of Israel.
21 A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty Elohim.
22 For though your people, O Israel, may be like the sand of the sea,
Only a remnant within them will return;
A destruction is determined, overflowing with righteousness.

Can we choose to be part of the living remnant? Is it possible to be part of the living remnant by keeping the commandments and believing in Y’shua? I believe that it is – it is no guarantee though. All will happen according to YHVH’s plan, but we do have a choice to be included in His plan or not. Therefor, choose life!

Don Esposito has an excellent teaching which ties in beautifully with the above called “Take the test” You can view it at his link: http://www.coyhwh.com/en/video.php?play=Take_The_Test.mp4
