We have done a study before on going up to Jerusalem for the three pilgrimage feasts of YHVH. In the previous article, we focused on what is commanded, and how we are to understand it. With time we learn more and that is the reason for this article. In this study, we will look at this commandment in more detail and from an Apostolic writing point of view. We have already discussed the lunar calendar and it’s origin in a number of articles. However, we have not yet addressed the topic of the solar calendar – also known as the Enoch calendar. Some groups are promoting the Enoch calendar as the “original” calendar of YHVH. This teaching has a lot of impact on our beliefs. We need to investigate this teaching to understand all the ripple effects that it causes. Let us do a detailed study of the Enoch calendar and the calendar of the Essenes. The more we know about this calendar the better we can decide how Scriptural this really is.
There are seven feasts in Abba YHVH’s annual feast cycle. These feasts are perpetual and have a very specific purpose, fulfillment and a special spiritual significance. Is it a biblical commandment for us to search for the barley or is it simply a traditions that we have seen from the Karaites and now we also decided to do it? This article will investigate if there is any biblical foundation for this search.
