Counting the Omer and having a pure heart

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Shavuot

We have just celebrated the Feasts of Passover, First Fruits and Unleavened bread. It has been a delightful time, a time of celebration with dear friends and family. We commemorated both our physical redemption from Egypt as well as our spiritual redemption from our spiritual Egypt, which is our sinful state. Y’shua our Messiah took our punishment on Himself and redeemed us. We are free in Him.

We arenow counting the omer to the next appointed time, Shavuot. You may wonder what this has to do with having a pure heart…

The first Passover and the commemoration of it

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Pesach

It is almost time for Passover or Pesach, the first festival of the new biblical year. We find it necessary to re-read all the instructions before every feast. This ensures that we celebrate the festival according to the commandments given by YHVH. We tend to sometimes forget some of the detail…

There are many different ideas on how we are to celebrate this feast. Some teach that we are to slaughter a lamb and put the blood on the doorposts and lintel. We believe that we must differentiate between the first Passover and the commemoration thereof. We will supply you with scriptural proof to show you why we are not to slaughter a lamb, in our dwellings, as part of our celebration of the Passover.

What does the Bible teach us about meditation?

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Deception, Training in righteousness

Many people in our overstressed, health-conscious society are discovering yoga and meditation as a way of relaxation and a means to good health. Meditation is also done by those who practice kabbalah as part of their religious beliefs. We touched briefly on this in the previous article. This study prompted us to look deeper into this topic as more believers are also practicing meditation either for health reasons or in their search of spirituality. The question is, is it acceptable for Torah-observant believers in Y’shua to practice yoga and meditation?

Sukkot – restoring the Kingdom one sukkah at a time

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in Sukkot

This may sound strange to you. How can the Kingdom be restored, one sukkah at a time? What does this mean? We have come to understand the main purpose of the Tabernacle through a previous study. The foremost, but not the only, purpose of the tabernacle was to be a set apart place for YHVH to dwell with His people. We want to show you how the feast of Sukkot, also known as the feast of Booths or the feast of Tabernacles, is not only connected with the tabernacle, but also a picture of YHVH dwelling, once again, among His people. We will also show you how this feast is part of YHVH’s restoration.
