Choose whom you will serve

Written by Schalk_and_Elsa. Posted in restoration

Life is about choices! When we were little children, one of the first things we learned was that we can choose. We could choose the toys we wanted to play with, or sometimes given the choice of a sugary treat. We also started learning about the consequences of wrong choices. As we grew up, we were given more choices. Choices that affected more than just the moment. Choices that could affect the outcome of our lives and how we spend eternity.

This article is about the single most important choice you will ever make.

This statement has bugged me for a long time, especially when it is quoted to condemn believers who earnestly do their best to follow YHVH’s commandments. This phrase is also almost always quoted as a reason for the disunity that is evident in the Messianic community. Sometimes it is used to manipulate others to compromise their beliefs for the sake of unity. Anti-missionaries like to quote it when they refer to us who believe in Y”shua. This has become quite a popular phrase…

However, is it right to use this phrase in these contexts?

Meditation is also done by those who practice kabbalah as part of their religious beliefs. We touched briefly on this in the previous article. This study prompted us to look deeper into this topic as more believers are also practicing meditation either for health reasons or in their search of spirituality. The question is, is it acceptable for Torah-observant believers in Y’shua to practice yoga and meditation?
