• Building altars

    Building altars

We have recently published two articles: Dispelling spiritual darkness, which is about prayer altars and A spiritual priesthood about how wrong it is when we, as believers, call ourselves priests. These studies prompted a few the questions: how do we reconcile the building of altars and sacrificing by people who are not of the Levitical line? We may need to challenge our understanding about altars and the premise that only priests were allowed to offer sacrifices. In this study, we will do that. We will first define what the word altar means in the context of scripture. We will also search out the instructions regarding the building of an altar and investigate who built altars and why.

  • Praise in faith, healing and warfare

Praise in faith, healing and warfare

Who doesn’t like to be praised? Praise builds up. You may have witnessed the glow on a little child’s face when you give them praise. YHVH wants us to praise Him, He deserves our praise, but the way I understand it, is that it is not for His benefit, but for ours. There is great power in praise. In this article we will search the scriptures to see what we can learn about praise from scripture.

  • The names of other Deities

    The names of other Deities

It is written in Scripture that we are not to mention the names of other deities. Is it correct to understand this to mean that we are not to, even say these names when referring to another god? In this study, we shall see what we can learn from scripture in this regard. We shall also look into the roots of words. There are teachings that state that we cannot use certain English words like mercy, grace, faith and wisdom because the roots of these words are of heathen or pagan origin. We shall show you from Scripture how both these teachings are in contradiction with Scripture.

  • Our commission

    Our commission

While doing Bible study this morning, Psalm 96 popped into my mind, and I took my Bible to read it. After having read it a few times a realized just how very profound it was. Here, in this Psalm, we are given instructions on what our focus in life should be, YHVH. YHVH also gave us a commission through King David. What is even more profound is that this commission is in line with the commission given by Y’shua in the Apostolic Writings.

  • What does YHVH require of us?

What does YHVH require of us?

Every one of us is in a relationship with another person, a person dear to us. The point is, if you love someone dearly, you want to please him or her. How much more are we not to want to please our Father in Heaven. If we love Him, we surely want to do what He requires of us. The question is: do we know what He requires of us? Do we really know? Is it even a priority in our lives, or do we worship Him out of mere routine, or because it is expected of us?
