• Defending your faith!

    Defending your faith!

How often have you ended up discussing your faith or beliefs with others and then, at the end, wished you were better prepared? Have you ended up in a heated debate and then realized you could have done this better? Let us see if we can get any good recommendation from Scripture. Let us look into the instructions we are given about reaching out to others. What did Y’Shua do and what did Paul and Peter teach their followers? Our goal with this study is to see if we can go into these conversations better prepared.

  • Y’shua and the laws of clean and unclean

Y’shua and the laws of clean and unclean

We have previously written two articles on our understanding of the commandments regarding clean and unclean. We have since received some questions which we were very interested to find answers for. One of these questions are: How do we make sure we do not come into contact with anything or anyone who is unclean in order to make sure we don’t become unclean? We might, unknowingly, touch a person who is unclean or use public transport and sit on a chair where an unclean person sat. We might, for this reason, always be in an unclean state. The question is, does this really matter? Should we even pursue this?

  • Modesty…the holy and the profane

    Modesty…the holy and the profane

We recently received a comment on an article we posted on modesty. This article was written by an anonymous author. It gave his point of view on modesty. This prompted us to write our understanding of what is written in the Word on modesty, so here it is. This article is not only about modesty, but also about the holy and the profane; the set apart and the common. We live in a time where moral values have become unimportant and people, for the most part, live for self. Modesty is not something that is considered in worldly circles, on the contrary; it is regularly laughed at. Being immodestly dressed is even considered trendy. The profane is elevated and set apartness is scoffed at. It is one of the signs of the times we live in. Immodesty is one of the devices Satan uses to destroy moral values, marriages and our youth. In this study, we shall learn about set apart modesty. Set apart modesty is about distinguishing between the holy and the profane. This includes dress, behavior and speech.

  • Spiritual uncleanness and shadows…

    Spiritual uncleanness and shadows…

We often have discussions regarding clean and unclean and how this impacts us. This is a fascinating topic and we can spend many hours studying it and still learn something every time. We have come to realize that these instructions on clean and unclean, were given for our benefit. You can read more about it in ” Uncleanness and separation…are these commandments still for us?” However, there is even more significance to it. YHVH’s commandments, including these on clean and unclean, were given to reveal His character and ways to us. It is a shadow of His essence…We shall expand on this as well as spiritual uncleanness in this article.

  • Uncleanness and separation…are these commandments still for us?

Uncleanness and separation…are these commandments still for us?

In our previous post, we wrote on the law of Niddah and some other relevant commandments. We have learned how uncleanness brought about by normal physiological functions or illness can cause separation. This compelled us to question the spiritual implications of this. We know there is a physical and a spiritual side to everything. Sometimes, what we perceive as negative in the fleshy realm can actually be beneficial or positive on either a physical or spiritual level. Is this the same with uncleanness? Furthermore, knowing that there is a physical and a spiritual realm, how does physical uncleanness affect us spiritually, if at all?

  • Family purity and the law of Niddah

Family purity and the law of Niddah

We have written an article about Set Apart Marriage and have been asked for more information about the law of Niddah, hence, this post. What is this law of Niddah, as it is often referred to, and how are we to understand it? Why is it even important? We shall share the Scriptural truth about these and related commandments with you. This is a sensitive and mature topic, but very important for every married couple to know. Furthermore, young people planning to get married also need to learn this in order to apply it from the beginning of their marriage.
