    Making vows

    Abundance is defined as a quantity considerably more than what one would expect or anticipate, beyond the norm2. Does this definition of abundance describe your life? Not only material things, but every aspect of your life: your relationships, health, your mental state, and most importantly your spiritual life. How would you describe your relationship with YHVH? Can you say you have a deep, intimate relationship with your Creator, Him fulfilling your every need? Do you hear His voice? Does He guide you in all your ways? If you were to describe your life metaphorically with either the word blessing or curse, what would it be? All these questions are meant to prompt you to evaluate your life. How did you do? Did you know that it is YHVH’s plan for us to live life abundantly?

    Do you speak with boldness about YHVH and His things or do you prefer to keep quiet? Boldness is another one of those recurring themes that I am experiencing in my life. I believe that it is not only for me, but that YHVH is calling us to be bold and to tell people about Him. This is still possible, we have the freedom now, but only YHVH knows for how long. Persecution of believers is on the increase and will force most to silence.

    Life is about choices! When we were little children, one of the first things we learned was that we can choose. We could choose the toys we wanted to play with, or sometimes given the choice of a sugary treat. We also started learning about the consequences of wrong choices. As we grew up, we were given more choices. Choices that affected more than just the moment. Choices that could affect the outcome of our lives and how we spend eternity. This article is about the single most important choice you will ever make.

    Self-discipline and Self-control

    A lack of self-control can result in endless pain for the one who doesn’t have it and sometimes even more for the one who falls victim to someone who lacks self-control. Lives can be and are ruined because of this. Accidents due to drunken drivers, children whose lives are ruined because of adults without self-control. Broken marriages…to name a few examples. Each of us have done things we will always regret, things we did as a result of no self-control. This article is not to condemn, but to help. These situations and temptations are a part of being human, but we must know how to deal with this. We must know our limitations and our strengths in order to ensure we don’t fall victim to this and suffer or make others suffer.
