• The End of the Age

    The End of the Age

There is much speculation regarding the coming of the Messiah Y’shua. Many interpretations and predictions are made. How do we know what is true? What will be the sign of Y’shua’s coming? Y’shua’s disciples were also anxious to know this. The first thing Y’shua said when asked this question was to warn them to see to it that no one deceives them. This warning is for us too. There are so many theories and prophets out there. Some of these theories have been repeated so many times that is has been accepted as truth. It may seem true, but do not be deceived, test everything against YHVH’s word. That is the purpose of this article to see how Y’shua answered this question to His disciples and align it with the rest of scripture in order to give us a clearer perspective on this.

    Spiritual utterance, words from above

The topic of spiritual utterance has been on our list to study for a long time now. This topic can be controversial, but needn’t be. We will focus on what is written about this in Scripture. There are actually three kinds of spiritual utterances found in Scripture. Speaking in tongues is one of these.

  • Mercy and Grace, you shall reap what you sow

Mercy and Grace, you shall reap what you sow

Mercy and grace are two of those abstract concepts that are often used to express what we are to have towards each other and what YHVH has towards us. We want to look closer at these concepts because if we understand it, we will be more likely to identify, appreciate and express it.

Generational curses and curses spoken over us

In our previous article, we have looked at blessings and curses from YHVH’ s perspective and also from ours as believers. We have learned how powerful a blessing and a curse can be. When we bless somebody and invoke YHVH’s name, He is the power behind that blessing, if it is according to His will. Blessings or curses spoken over us by unbelievers can also have an effect in our lives. Allow me to explain.

  • Everybody does what is right in their own eyes…

Everybody does what is right in their own eyes…

This statement has bugged me for a long time, especially when it is quoted to condemn believers who earnestly do their best to follow YHVH’s commandments. This phrase is also almost always quoted as a reason for the disunity that is evident in the Messianic community. Sometimes it is used to manipulate others to compromise their beliefs for the sake of unity. Anti-missionaries like to quote it when they refer to us who believe in Y”shua. This has become quite a popular phrase… However, is it right to use this phrase in these contexts?
