• Fasting on Yom Kippurim

    Fasting on Yom Kippurim

I have seen so many articles about Yom Kippurim this past week that my head is spinning! I love these feast times, so much to learn so little time. It sometimes feels like drinking from a fire hose! To get back to the articles; many people seem to be of the opinion that it is not necessary to fast on Yom Kippurim. We understand this differently, WE ARE TO FAST ON YOM KIPPURIM! Don’t just dismiss this article if you are not in agreement, bear with us as we show you YHVH’s truth from His Word, then go forth and share this so that others can learn and apply YHVH’s truth!

  • The significance of understanding First Fruits

The significance of understanding First Fruits

We have now entered the season of the spring festivals as described in Leviticus 23. In our previous post we highlighted some of the facts regarding the first two feasts of the year, namely Pesach and the feast of Unleavened bread. In this article we will be discussing about the next appointed time that is most likely also the most overlooked of all. I am referring to the First Fruits offering. Do you really understand why this is in my opinion the most important moedim for us as followers of Y’Shua our Messiah?

  • How to celebrate Pesach and the Feast of Unleavened Bread

How to celebrate Pesach and the Feast of Unleavened Bread

Abba YHVH, in His greatness, has given us seven festivals to celebrate throughout the year. These are His appointed times. We are, in this study, going to focus on the practical observation of the feasts of Pesach and Unleavened bread. In Ex 12:2-29 we find the instructions for the very first time these feasts were to be observed. These were given to Moses by YHVH before the exodus out of Egypt. Are all these instructions applicable to us? Do we have to slaughter a lamb and apply the blood to the doorposts? What does our Father desire from us in the observation of these feasts?

  • Yom T’ruah is not Rosh haShanah

Yom T’ruah is not Rosh haShanah

During this time of year we hear a lot of discussions as to whether or not we should join in the celebration of Rosh haShanah (Head of the new Year). We all know that Exodus 12:2 specifically tells us that the beginning of the year is in Aviv (spring time). Yet, we hear some very convincing tales as to why the Scriptures actually allows for more than one new year (like we have today – calendar year, fiscal year, school year, etc…) In this article I will proof to you that the Scriptures only refer to one new year and it is not Rosh haShanah on 1 Tishri!

Feast of Trumpets – Yom T’ruah

What does scripture tell us about the first of the fall feasts? How much of what you have learned comes from men and how much from YHVH? We have mixed commandments and traditions so much that it becomes very difficult to tell the one from the other. As we get closer to Yom T’ruah it is good to look at what YHVH commanded regarding this moed. If we know what is commanded we can determine if the traditions are the rules of men or a valuable teaching aid. Every feast is a rehearsal and an opportunity to learn more as to how YHVH wants us to keep this moed with and for Him. We will also have a look at the prophetic significance of this feast. What does this feast have to do with the second coming of our Messiah?
