The process of sanctification
As stated in the previous article, sanctification is not something that we acquire instantly when choosing Y’shua as our Messiah. It is the process that takes us out of our old nature and brings us into the kingdom of YHVH. It is a process of breaking down the old and building the new. In some cases, He may even break us down completely in order to start rebuilding on a new foundation. This may be a very painful and traumatic process, and may happen more than once during our journey.

What is Sanctification and why we need it?
We have come to realize that the topic of sanctification is probably one of the most overlooked topics in the believing community. There is a lot of focus on salvation and very little emphasis on sanctification. This is most likely caused by the incorrect assumption that salvation fixes everything in our lives. This is the reason for this article. We want to show you that after we choose to believe in Y’shua, we still need to work on becoming set apart to Him through the process of sanctification.

Free from Captivity
We become holy or set apart by the process of sanctification. YHVH wants us to be set apart people for Him. Sanctification is the process of removing everything that causes separation between us and YHVH. The process of sanctification started for us with obedience to His Word. As we learned how YHVH wanted us to live, we left behind the ways of the world and followed His way. We repented of our lawlessness and became more sanctified. this is an ongoing process, it is a journey. There is, however, more to the process of sanctification. I know this since I have experienced this, I felt that something was holding me back spiritually and I didn’t know what it was. I found the answer in getting free from the captivity caused by the iniquity of my forefathers. This is also a part of this sanctification process and many people don’t realize they they are being held captive.
