Temptation is something every one of us has to deal with on a regular basis. We are YHVH’s children and for this reason, satan will not rest, but will constantly attempt to lure us away into his kingdom of darkness and sin. However, if we know this and know what to look out for, we can stand strong against this. Self control is important, but at certain times our self control may fail us due to tiredness or stress. We need to have a strategy in place to protect us from falling into temptation.
The Power of a Blessing and a Curse
Blessings and curses are a reality in Scripture, but also in our lives. We don’t always realize it, because we are so far removed from YHVH’s ways. In some circles, blessings and curses are regarded as words having intrinsic power or magic. We don’t see it as magic, but if you read Scripture, you will see that blessings and curses are powerful. In this article and the next, we will learn why this is so. We will first look at blessings and curses from YHVH’s perspective and also from the perspective of us as believers and how we are affected by these blessings and curses even in our day.
In our previous article, we wrote about the spiritual impact of Babel and the one before about how the spiritual realm influences us. This week, we will dig a bit deeper into the topic of the spiritual realm with our focus on defiled land. Our foundation will be what is written about this in Scripture. You will be amazed to learn how land can be defiled and its impact on us. We will also look at ways to cleanse defiled land and how to cleanse and dedicate our homes.
Shavuot, consider this
Two years ago we started celebrating Shavuot differently. This day, to us, is a day on which we renew our commitment to YHVH. Much like married couples do when they renew their wedding vows. We do this in the form of a proclamation, because we are commanded to make a procalmation on this day. This short article is to explain the motivation behind this and how we do it.
Disobedience is not a game, it could change the course of your life
What if your next act of disobedience changes the course of your life? Have you ever considered this? I am not talking about losing a blessing as a result of being disobedient; I am talking about a profound change. YHVH is very patient with us; I don’t think we realize just how much. Will He always be? Or will His patience with us run out? In this study, we look at the lives of different people in the Bible to find answers to these questions.
A prophet, a donkey and a lion…a warning for you!
In 1 Kings 13:10-34, we read the account of the prophet, the donkey and the lion. In this chronicle we have two prophets, one faithful to YHVH’s word and another living within the borders of the apostate king. This is indeed an intriguing chronicle but also a very stern warning. What could you learn from this?
