The spiritual dimension of Y’Shua’s acts

Now that we have a good understanding of the basics of the spiritual world, it is interesting to relook at the ministry of Y’shua with a focus on the spiritual dimension. If we focus on this we start to see a number of passages, that now either add a new understanding or raise a whole bunch of new questions. These previously unexplainable passages, now make us take note. Let us focus on the ministry of Y’Shua and identify some behind the scenes things that were going on in the spiritual realm. It may just clarify some of those wierd passages in Scripture for you.

  • Overcoming Temptation

    Overcoming Temptation

Temptation is something every one of us has to deal with on a regular basis. We are YHVH’s children and for this reason, satan will not rest, but will constantly attempt to lure us away into his kingdom of darkness and sin. However, if we know this and know what to look out for, we can stand strong against this. Self control is important, but at certain times our self control may fail us due to tiredness or stress. We need to have a strategy in place to protect us from falling into temptation.

  • Know thy enemy!

    Know thy enemy!

We need to know our enemy if we want to succeed in battle. As we know, our battle is not against flesh and blood. We need to know who these powers of darkness are that we need to struggle with. What does the Scriptures teach us about the adversary? Do we think about the adversary only with our Western mindset or do we really acknowledge what the Scriptures teach us? He is real and we need to know how he operates if we want to overcome his system.

  • Strongholds, each of us has one

Strongholds, each of us has one

The concept of a stronghold is foreign to our modern minds, except for what we may have read about it in history books. It is not part of our frame of reference and because of this, we may not understand the significance of this. We need to understand the physical structure in order to understand what was meant when it was employed as a metaphor. Each of us has a stronghold in our lives. When we have the right kind, it is to our benefit, but some strongholds are to our detriment.

  • Thoughts, the battle in our minds

Thoughts, the battle in our minds

What are you thinking right now? What have you been thinking about today? Are you worried, thinking about the challenges you face or thinking about pleasant things, rolling hills and wild flowers perhaps? Our thoughts are important; it shapes who we are and who we become. If you dwell on negative thoughts, you will become negative and so perceived by others. Did you know that your thoughts play a role in your health too?

  • How to learn self-control and why we need to

How to learn self-control and why we need to

Have you ever battled to lose weight or to stick to an exercise program? You endure for a while, but then one day in your weakness you eat a chocolate, or you decide to sleep in instead of getting up early to exercise. This first transgression may be the first step to failure depending on how you handle this mishap. What I have described here is not sin, but these battles we fight every day can be compared to our battle against sin. This battle is a spiritual battle and giving in to temptation could be the first step you take in throwing away your entire life for a moment’s pleasure, as illustrated in the little story above about the flies and the honey.
